St Martin-in-the-Fields Choir From London

Collegeville, MN (PRWEB) April 13, 2011

The choir from St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, London, will join three College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University choral ensembles and the Amadeus Chamber Symphony, in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, in the Saint John’s Abbey and University Church in Collegeville, Minn.

“The annual spring concert is always the culmination of another year of music making, combining many of the colleges’ top performance groups and is the farewell concert for all graduating seniors. This year is even more exciting,” said Axel Theimer, professor of music at CSB and SJU.

“It does not happen often that college groups have the opportunity to collaborate in performance with a very distinguished and celebrated choral ensemble – let alone one from Great Britain,” he said.

St Martin-in-the-Fields’ appearance at Saint John’s is the first stop on their first-ever U.S. tour. Theimer commented that several coincidences make this appearance unique.

“St Martin-in-the-Fields Church is the royal parish church,” he said. Also, the day of the concert is the wedding day of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London, making this a special occasion for the visiting choir. “We will celebrate with them – through music,” he said.

In celebration of the Royal Wedding, St Martin-in-the-Fields will join the Chamber Choir and the Amadeus Chamber Symphony in the performance G.F. Handel’s Coronation Anthem The King Shall Rejoice, and will also present several solo selections from their wide repertoire of sacred music. The Amadeus Chamber Symphony will perform a short Symphony by British Baroque composer William Boyce, as well as Samuel Barber’s all-time audience favorite, Adagio for Strings. The concert will culminate in the performance of Leonard Bernstein’s magnificent opus – with connections to Great Britain – Chichester Psalms.

The choir from St Martin-in-the-Fields Church is under the direction of Andrew Earis. “The choir is delighted to be coming to Collegeville on its first visit to the United States,” he said.

The CSB Women’s Choir is conducted by Jody Martinson. Theimer directs the CSB/SJU Chamber Choir, SJU Men’s Chorus and Amadeus Chamber Symphony.

The concert is co-sponsored by the CSB/SJU Department of Music and the Institute for Sacred Music at Saint John’s.

Tickets are $ 12 for adults and $ 8 for students, employees at CSB and SJU and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Benedicta Arts Center of the College of Saint Benedict box office (10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday), by calling 320-363-5777 or online at http://www.csbsju.edu/fine-arts.

NEWTON, Mass. (PRWEB) May 16, 2007

”The lesson from the recent student loan scandals should be that borrowers owe it to themselves to shop around,” explained Kevin Walker, co-founder and CEO of SimpleTuition. “We want SimpleTuition to be part of a borrower’s larger quest for college financing. Whether you select a loan via SimpleTuition or from another source, this is an important decision and you should do your homework.”

SimpleTuition is on its way to becoming the industry standard for evaluating student loan options. At SimpleTuition.com, parents and students can research more than 100 loan products from nearly 50 leading lenders. Borrowers can compare loan options on an ‘apples to apples’ basis, manipulate numbers, change assumptions, sort by loan attributes – all in real-time. To access the expanded list of loans, site visitors simply select “Expanded List” in the “View Loans From” feature at the top of the loan results page.

“For more than two years, SimpleTuition has been pioneering interactive tools to aid students and parents in understanding their student loan options,” added Walker. “We are proud of our mission to be an independent and comprehensive source of student loan data – and with the addition of dozens of new loan products, we can add ‘comprehensive’ to that list of descriptors.”

SimpleTuition is not a lender, and unlike other online student loan resources, SimpleTuition is not sponsored or owned by a single lender or financial services company. Similar to other comparison shopping and search sites, the company may receive a transaction or referral fee if any of its many Partner products is selected. SimpleTuition clearly discloses Partner products, and its expanded model includes dozens of non-partners for a wider choice. The service is free to users.

Colleges and universities can also work with SimpleTuition to present compliant and arm’s-length loan information to their families. Whether a school wants to present three loan options or two hundred and three, SimpleTuition can help.

Loan results can be sorted by monthly payment, total cost of loan, number of payments, first payment due date and APR – and results contain detailed information about loan pricing, borrower benefits and other attributes.

   About SimpleTuition, Inc.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 19, 2010

Employrium redefines job search by plugging into the largest source of jobs — the hidden job market. According to Employrium, the hidden job market is responsible for over 60 percent of job openings that convert to new hires. Coupled with the recognized trend toward social networking, getting hired is akin to climbing mountains. With Employrium’s Job Search Tweets, now savvy job seekers have the advantage, i.e. ability, to connect with recruiters and other job seekers — in real time. Now Employrium’s Job Search Tweets App supports advanced local job search features linked to Google Maps. Employrium’s Job Search Tweets App is available in the Android Market.

Clearly, the evolution of social networking represents a shake up in legacy job search. “While the hidden job market itself is nothing new, the expansive nature of participants via Job Search Tweets is definitely ground breaking,” says Employrium Founder Darryl Carter. With job search real time, Job Seeker Blog, and Job Search Tweets for Android, job seekers spend less time searching. For job seekers that means landing the next job faster. Moreover, from a recruiting and placement perspective, less time searching means shorter cycle times and higher margins.

About Employrium:

Since 2004, Employrium has been providing web-enabled employment services for the online recruiting and job search community. Leveraging web-enabled services, Employrium provides innovative recruiting and job search services that engage and connect direct employers, candidates and recruiters.

Frederick, MD (Vocus) October 28, 2008

Regent Education, the leading provider of financial aid management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for higher education institutions, today announced the white paper release, Software as a Service (Saas): A Financial Aid Perspective.

“SaaS is changing the way institutions manage financial aid by solving the compliance headaches, resource constraints, and manual processes that financial aid offices have been dealing with for decades,” said Michael Peck, Regent’s Senior Vice President, Client Solutions Group and author of Software as a Service: A Financial Aid Perspective. “The SaaS delivery model is a compelling alternative to traditional financial aid management systems, and one that enables the financial aid office to focus on serving students.”

The white paper will answer the following SaaS questions:

     What is SaaS?
What are the benefits of using a SaaS solution for financial aid management?
What is the process of implementing a SaaS financial aid management solution?

To learn more about the white paper, Software as a Service: A Financial Aid Perspective, join Michael for a 30-minute webinar scheduled for Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5, both taking place at 2:00pm EST. To sign up, go to http://www.regenteducation.com/solutions/attend-webinar/. Following the webinar, the white paper will be made available for download.

(PRWEB) January 31, 2008

Finally, someone created an entertaining new way to learn about our primary candidates. It occurs daily at an online event called “Primary Idol.” A creation of We All Vote, Primary Idol will be running new episodes every day through Super Tuesday. Sign up at WeAllVote.com to play Primary Idol at any time and view the latest topics being discussed. After getting informed, you will then rank the candidates based on your opinion of their performance.

“We here at WeAllVote.com feel that the online political arena can be intimidating when considering the nearly infinite amount of information available. In addition to that, much of it is inaccurate, biased and redundant. This can be extremely time consuming for the politically inactive person to find reliable information,” said WeAllVote.com founder Mike Macari.

Time is running out on this Primary Election as Super Tuesday rapidly approaches. Almost half of states are participating in elections that day. This is significant because the outcome of the primaries is practically determined. Did you procrastinate doing your homework on the candidates for this election? Need something quick and effortless to catch you up before the big day?

“WeAllVote.com is like cliffs notes for our candidates,” Macari quipped. “And Primary Idol is a fun new way to learn about our candidates and their platforms.”

About We All Vote:

We All Vote is set up to simply educate and discuss our Primary Presidential Candidates and their positions on and solutions to the various issues our nation is currently facing.

Manchester, NH (PRWEB) April 23, 2011

Southern New Hampshire University’s BS in Business Studies Business Administration online degree program is designed for students who want to focus on management in one of three areas: organizational leadership, human resource management and small business management. The latter is also for one seeking to focus on entrepreneurial opportunities. The degree balances that focus with a broad business background (the business core) to create managers that not only can manage but speak with language of business.

Completion of SNHU’s Business Studies Business Administration degree online or through one of its five New England-based campuses opens career opportunities in a number of fields, including managerial and leadership business for nonprofit agencies and in government. Opportunities for skilled leaders are significant. For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that new employment opportunities for managers will increase by 454,300 new jobs during the period 2008-2018.

SNHU, based in Manchester, NH, has a long tradition of educating business and accounting professionals. The business department is one of the longest-standing programs at SNHU, founded in 1932 as the New Hampshire School of Accounting and Secretarial Science.

With its first online offering in 1995, the online degree programs at SNHU continue meeting the needs of today’s students while at the same time ensuring educational quality and real-world applicability.

If you have many essay writing assignments to take care of during the course of a semester, you may need to give each one less time than what the assignment deserves to be worthy of a high grade. Many students spend a great deal of time in the preparatory work – the required reading and research, along with the drawing of conclusions from examples and facts – and then these students dash off a paper which is not carefully re-read and edited. There may be a general feeling that since the facts and conclusions have all been set to paper, that there is little more to do. What is happening with these students and their custom writing assignments is that they are considering the task completed before it actually is done.

Unless a person is a professional or dedicated writer, the idea of proofreading and final editing for a piece of writing does not normally enter a person’s mind. This shouldn’t be allowed to become a habitual oversight, as writers tend to make the same mistakes over and over in their prose, and new mistakes and grammatical errors are usually added to these, if the quality level of the writing remains unchecked.

You can better the work you turn into your instructors, and learn about editing along the way, if you contact the essay writing service of the sort where students can buy essays online, and request editing of your own paper. When you get an essay online like this – written exclusively for you by a professional writer – you can compare the custom essay received against the draft you submitted for proofreading, and understand a little better how much of an improvement a good final edit can give to your writing. Hopefully, some of the knowledge gained by comparing the example will help you to be a better writer for your future assignments.

Agawam, MA (PRWEB) December 14, 2010

A newly released book called The Almanac of Fundraising Ideas is promising to help smaller non-profits, schools and churches struggling with lower contributions. Sharing data from GuideStar’s November 2010 report on fundraising, Joe DiDonato, the author of the new book, stated that the non-profit sector is still experiencing widespread financial problems.

Mr. DiDonato said that there was some positive news: “large non-profits were more likely to report increases in donations in the first nine months of 2010.” However, he went on to explain that the multiple relief efforts for Haiti, China and other world disasters may have skewed the numbers for some of these larger international organizations, especially those that were directly involved in rescue and support operations.

According to DiDonato, a majority of the organizations were still reporting lower contributions, while conversely, experiencing more demand for their services. One of the study’s summary points was that “In the Health, Public Society Benefit, and Religion subsectors, a larger percentage of organizations reported a decrease in charitable contributions.” These affected organizations reported that they were coping with the situation by implementing cut-backs in program services, operating hours, salaries, and personnel.

Mr. DiDonato recounted similar woes at the two charities where he had served as a board member. “The initial tendency is to cut back sharply on services and people. But that thinking assumes a finite number of ways to raise money for your cause.” He pointed out that there are many ways to buffer operating revenues, from incorporating additional venues within each event, to novel new ways of raising money that most charitable organizations have not yet tried or considered.

“In one of the non-profits that dealt with support of cancer survivors, I was asked to chair a budget shortfall subcommittee,” Mr. DiDonato recounted. He said that he put together a list summarizing 200 fundraising ideas that he had come across over the years, and put that list in front of 8 committee members before the planning meeting. “Instead of going into that meeting with a bias to close down several of our services, we ended up developing 8 new ideas that could raise money in the next two quarters – and without overloading our staff and volunteers.” Mr. DiDonato hopes that other fundraising committees will see similar results when they read through his new eBook.

Included in this 350-page fundraising almanac are “How it Works” and “Ideas to Consider” sections for each of the fundraisers, as well as 88 links to YouTube videos showing successful events in operation, like a Bowl-a-Thon that raised over $ 90,000; to one mom’s efforts to raise money for her daughter’s Autism treatments by getting 99 women to help her put together a naked “cheesecake” calendar. The book also contains examples and illustrations, website links, supplier links, as well as links to ‘turnkey’ providers who will put on an entire event for a non-profit, like a Rubber Duck Race or a Casino Night.

One of the direct benefactors of the book will be The Orphan Foundation who will receive $ 1 for every copy of the eBook that’s purchased.
