Internet Facilitators Limited (IFL) Announces the Opening Date of their Third Data Centre Facility in the Heart of Manchester, UK
Manchester, UK (PRWEB) August 21, 2006
IFL, have announced the opening of an additional 13,000 square feet of high quality data centre space in the heart of Manchester, UK. The £7m deal with Manchester Technopark secures IFLs third facility is located in Reynolds House, Manchester Technopark and increases fourfold the space presently available. This exciting project positions IFL as the largest provider of quality carrier neutral data centre space in Manchester.
Reynolds House, Manchester Technopark, was purpose built as a data centre where IFL will be investing a further £1M in the property in order to bring it up to their exacting standards. Scheduled for opening from 1st October 2006 the additional space will meet the needs of companies embarking on deployments of next generation technology. Further developments on the site will see a further £1M invested in order to increase capacity.
Commenting on this exciting development, Dr Peter Mills, Managing Director of IFL said: “Availability of high quality data centre space in Manchester has limited the region’s internet community and forced many companies to locate equipment in London and further afield. IFLs expansion will ensure that high quality services are available locally and will avoid this migration southwards for many companies. In addition to providing regional colocation services, this is also good news for those with a presence elsewhere, looking for a secondary UK location away from the industry’s over reliance on London datacentres”.
With increased capacity, offering solutions including dedicated 10u quarter racks, full racks and flexible caged suite areas, IFL are able to accommodate customers and requirements of every size and nature. With 24x7x365 access, remote hands & manned security, VESDA smoke detection, FM200 fire suppression, n+1 UPS, dual feed power, diesel generators housed in the onsite energy centre, high capacity air conditioning systems and comprehensive facility monitoring systems, IFL facilities cater for every requirement.
Being the primary host of MCIX (http://www.mcix.co.uk), with incoming fibre connections from multiple Telco’s, and a 10GB dual diverse fibre ring around Manchester’s primary data centres; IFLs carrier neutral facilities provide customers with a robust inter-site network with flexible and comprehensive bandwidth options. Cost of bandwidth in the region continues to fall, further enhancing IFLs attractive colocation services.
“The opening of our third facility has been accompanied by a radical commercialisation of IFL from its roots as a spin out company of the University of Manchester, This will allow us to respond quickly and positively to our customer requirements as we look forward to further growth into the future” commented IFL’s Peter Mills.
